Group projects seem to have a bad rap among students and instructors alike for any number of reasons. At TCNJ, we use Instructure Canvas as our learning management system.

While the Groups tool within Canvas can’t address all of the issues with group projects, it sure does help out a lot. We will show how this tool can be used to facilitate group projects or similar assignments, overcoming a number of obstacles that they present for the students and instructors. Bio: Ryan Gladysiewicz is the Associate Director for the Office of Instructional Design at TCNJ. Ryan oversees TCNJ's instructional technology group which provides faculty support for technology in teaching and learning and management of the Canvas learning management system. He most recently adjuncts for the School of Business, teaching Information Concepts and Database Management Systems, and is an active member in the staff senate and Information Technology Planning Council.
